We’ll go into the India match with positiveness: Choton

Biratnagar: Bangladesh women’s national team head coach Golam Rabbani Choton has stated that the Bengal girls will take to the pitch against India on Wednesday with maximum positiveness.

Choton made the statement while speaking about his team’s preparation for the second semi-final of the ongoing SAFF Women’s Championship 2019 against India.

“Our preparations for the match against India have been pleasing. Players have fully recovered and recharged their batteries. We have really looked deep into ourselves to be positive and forthright in our play against India,” said Choton.

Skipper Sabina Khatun said, “We learnt some hard lessons against Nepal. But we will be very proactive and positive in our play against India.”

Goalkeeper Rupna Chakma, who has recovered from a small injury, also talked about being well prepared for the India match and expressed the team’s readiness.

“We have recovered very well since our group game with Nepal. We are all looking forward to this game with real optimism.”

Meanwhile, India head coach Maymul Rocky said that her team is not taking Bangladesh lightly.

“Both Bangladesh and India will go into the SAFF semi-finals with the best possible preparation. We do not underestimate Bangladesh as they are also a very good team.”

On Tuesday, the Bangladesh women’s national team completed their last training session in the afternoon before the semi-final clash with India here in Nepal.

The team completed an array of dynamic stretching exercises followed by some passing exercises and some tactical patterns. To conclude the session, the team rehearsed all their set plays both from a defending and attacking perspective. Even penalty kicks were practised.

Some individual player meetings with certain players were held on Tuesday night. Besides, a final team meeting will be held Wednesday morning prior to the pre-match snack.

Bangladesh will square off against India in the second semi-final of the ongoing SAFF Women’s Championship 2019 at 3:15pm at the Sahid Rangashala in Biratnagar, Nepal on Wednesday, March 20.
