The Rohingya people, who fled atrocities in Myanmar’s Rakhine state and took refuge in Bangladesh, participated in a coaching education programme and football matches at Ukhiya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.
The coaching education programme and the goodwill football match, initiated by Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and organized by Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), were held as part of the second phase of the BFF’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was in association with the AFC and the BFF while organizing the football programmes.
The people, who took coaching training, were distributed certificates while the children, who participated in the football matches, were handed over trophies.
The BFF’s football programmes in Cox’s Bazar will resume tomorrow (Wednesday). The Rohingya children will play several football matches at Cox’s Bazar district stadium from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.
At the same time, there will be another coaching education programme.
The final match of the children’s football and the prize giving ceremony will be held after the lunch break.
