U16 Women’s Championship final Saturday

The final match of the BFF UNICEF U16 Women’s National Football Championship is all set to be held at Bir Sreshtha Shahid Sipahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the capital’s Kamalpur on Saturday afternoon. Lalmonirhat and Magura, who thrashed their semifinal opponents Rajshahi and Mymensingh 6-0 and 7-0 in their respective semifinal matches today, will fight each other for the crown. The football clash will kick off at 3:30 pm. A total of eight teams participated the tournament’s final round, which started on July 20. After the match, the champions and the runners up team will be awarded at a gala prize giving ceremony where BFF Women’s Football Committee chairman Mahfuza Akhter Kiron will be present as the chief guest. Among others, UNICEF communication official Jean Jacques Simon and Iftikhar Ahmed Chowdhury will be present as the special guests. The BFF Women’s Football Committee, with the financial assistance from UNICEF, organize this talent hunt event in order to pick up a number of young football talented girls. Sports reporters and photojournalists from all the media outlets, along with people from all walks of life, are cordially invited to enjoy the game.
