Abahani Limited Dhaka kicked things off in fine fashion after the international break by beating Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society 5-2 in Round 17 of Bangladesh Premier League 2018-19 at Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.
Sunday Chizoba drew first blood for the Dhaka giants in the 9th minute of the game.
Sunday then doubled Abahani’s lead in the 33red minute.
Jewel Rana then joined the party to make it 3-0 in the 36th minute.
National player Nabib Newaz Ziban made it 4-0 in the 45th minute to more or less seal the fate of the game.
After the break, however, Rahmatganj came at Abahani with a bit more teeth.
Siyo Zunapio brought one back in the 65th minute.
Didarul Alom Didar then made it 4-2 in the 70th minute.
However, Sunday completed his hattrick in the 3rd minute of added time to bury Rahmatganj’s hopes of a comeback.
Abahani are second on the BPL table with 39 points from 16 matches whereas Rahmatganj are ninth with 15 points from 16 games.
