Bangladesh lose to Gwangju FC

Mokpo: Bangladesh national team lost the first practice match of their Korea tour to K-League 2 side Gwangju Football Club on Wednesday. The visitors put up a good fight but eventually succumbed to a defeat at the hands of a technically superior side. The match kicked off at 4:30 pm local time and it took the hosts 22 minutes to break the deadlock. Chong gave Gwangju FC the lead and Sabio Habison secured a 2-0 triumph for the hosts in the 93rd minute of the game. In an immediate reaction after the match, Bangladesh head coach Jamie Day said, “Gwangju Football Club is a very strong team. But our boys fought very strongly with them.” Hoping for a better display in the next match, Jamie said, “I am satisfied at the way my team played in the match. Our boys made some mistakes but in the next match, we’ll try to rectify those errors and play a much better match.” Team Manager Sattyajit Das Rupu said, “We played well against Gwangju FC but were let down by lack of clinical finishing, especially in the second half. Otherwise, the result could have been different. Our boys will play better football in the next game.”
