Brothers-BJMC share the spoils

Dhaka, July 29: Brothers Union Ltd and Team BJMC has ended their first match of the season with a draw in the Bangladesh Premier League 2017 at the Bangabandh National Stadium on Saturday.

Both the teams were slow on the pitch, and the forwards lacked control in the opposition defense zone.

However, two minutes into the game, Team BJMC’s Nigerian forward Oshioka Kingsley was disappointed as his strong left footer cracked from the right edge of the box rebounded off the side post.

Team BJMC continued pressure on the Brothers defence and came close to a strike again in the 16th minute with Abdullah Al Mamun curving a cross from the left flank and Shariful Islam placing the ball the over form a close range.

Brothers succeeded to sneak past the BJMC defence for the first time in the 32ndÂÂÂ minute but it ended futile. Haitian forward Augustine Walson did all the hardwork at the top of the box paving the way for Md. Rony, who placed the ball direct to BJMC custodian Polash.

The first halfÂÂÂ was dominated by BJMC, but they fell short of the cutting edge. Brothers could not make their counter attacking strategy productive.

After the resumption Brothers called in their Congolese forward Siyo Zunapiyo substituting Augustine Walson hoping to break the stalemate but Siyo also failed to rise on the occasion. At the end it was a goalless affair with the teams sharing the points.
