Dhaka Abahani declared winners of clash against Farashganj
Dhaka, April 28: Abahani Ltd. Dhaka has been declared 3-0 winners of their April 26 match against Farashganj SC of the ongoing WALTON U18 Football Tournament 2017-18.
The decision was taken after verifying a complaint by Abahani that Farashganj played a player whose registration details contain anomalies regarding his name and age.
According to Abahani’s complaint, Farashganj played Ankon Mondol (jersey no. 8) whose birthday has been mentioned to be 30-06-2001. However, that same player played in the recently finished Said Power Battery DMFLC 3rd Division Football League as Shobuj Roy whose birthday was recorded to be 18-05-1994.
After finding the anomalies to be true during the meeting held at 6:00pm at the BFF Secretariat, it was decided that Abahani is 3-0 winners of the contest in question rather than 0-1 losers which was originally played out at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
The decision was taken as such action by Farashganj violated articles 21.2 and 38.6 of the regulations of the WALTON U18 Football Tournament 2017-18.
Moreover, it was also decided at the meeting that the registration of Ankon Mondol alias Shobuj Roy for the ongoing tournament would be deemed invalid to immediate effect.
