Jamal held by Rahmatganj

Dhaka, December 6: Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society held Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd 1-1 again in the Bangladesh Premier League 22017 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.

In the first phase, Rahmatganj forced their superior opponents to share the points with the same scoreline. The Old Dhaka outfit repeated the act with their perfect teamwork.

It was Rahmatganj who took the lead in the 27th minute riding on a tricky strike of Gambian forward Dawda Cisse. The lanky Gambian overcame the challenge of defender Yasin Khan before hitting the back of the net (1-0).

Off colour Jamal was on the verge of losing the match but three minutes away of the stipulated time, another Gambian Solomon King’s solo effort saved them from defeat. Solomon curved a free kick into the net from the top of the box (1-1).

Jamal now have 34 points from 15 matches and is positioned second. Rahmatganj who have 13 from 15 matches are placed tenth.
