Mir Md Ali Faruq no more

Dhaka: Decorated football coach Mir Md Ali Faruq has passed away.

In his long and successful career, Faruq coached Arambagh KS, Feni Soccer Club, Rahmatganj MFS and Farashganj SC.

The veteran coach breathed his last at Delta Hospital in the capital at 12:30am on Saturday (June 9).

Faruq was suffering from cancer.

He was 68 at the time of his demise.

Faruq left behind his wife, four sons and numerous well-wishers to mourn his death.

His Janaza (funeral) prayer was held after the Zohr prayer at Arambagh Jame Masjid premises, adjacent to the BFF House, on Saturday.

BFF President Kazi Salahuddin, Senior Vice President Abdus Salam Murshedy, vice presidents, executive committee members, general secretaries and all employees of the federation have expressed their condolences over to Faruq’s family members and prayed for the eternal peace of his soul.
