National team leaves for S. Korea July 28

Dhaka: Bangladesh national football team is preparing to participate in the Asian Games 2018 scheduled to be held in August in Indonesia and the SAFF Suzuki Cup 2018 to be held in September in Dhaka. In order to expose the players to top quality training facility, the BFF took the players to a 2-week residential camp in Qatar from July 7-20. On July 18, the team played a friendly match against local team Mesaimeer Football Club and drew 1-1. The match was aimed at giving the players some game time and to asses the playuers’ overall condition. The team returned to Bangladesh on July 20 after a successful training camp. On July 22, the BFF arranged a press conference to brief the media about the training camp. National team coach Jamie Day, assistant coach Start Paul Watkiss, fitness coach Lindsay Roger Paul Davis, team manager Satyajit Das Rupu and BFF General Secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag attended the press briefing and answered the journalists’ queries. During the briefing, it was announced that the team will leave Bangladesh for South Korea on July 28 to attend a high intensity training camp and play a friendly match with one of the local clubs. The team will then fly to Indonesia directly from S. Korea to take part in the Asian Games 2018. After the Games, the team will come back to Bangladesh to participate in SAFF Suzuki Cup 2018. The team management and staff are confident of a good display from the team in the Asian Games and playing the final of the SAFF Championship.
