Wari beat Swadhinata 3-2; Dhaka City, Agrani Bank play out goalless draw

Dhaka: Wari Club beat struggling Swadhinata KS 3-2 in a five-goal thriller to pick-up three crucial points and move up the table of Bangladesh Championship League 2018-19. It was Swadhinata who took the lead at the BSSSM Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur, Dhaka on Sunday afternoon. Choton broke the deadlock in the 21st minute. However, Munna equalized for Wari Club only three minutes later. Tenjing then gave Wari Club the lead seconds before the half-time whistle. After break, it was Tenjing again who scored the third for Wari in the 75th minute. In the first minute of added time, after regulation time, Tareq pulled one back for Swadhinata but it was nothing more than a consolation. The win saw Wari move up to the 7th position in the table with 19 points from 14 games whereas Swadhinata are rock bottom with 12 points from 15 games. The other match of the day found no winners as Dhaka City and Agrani Bank played out a goalless draw. The draw took Dhaka City FC to the second spot in the table with 23 points from 14 matches. Agrani Bank, winless in the last 5 matches, are at 4th with 20 points from 15 games.
