AFC Cup 2018: Abahani, Aizawl promise a high octane match

Dhaka, April 24: Both Abahani Dhaka Limited and India’s Aizawl FC have promised exciting football in their faceoff at the AFC Cup 2018 match.

Abahani will represent Bangladesh in the AFC Cup 2018 for being the champions of the Bangladesh Premier League 2017. They will play against Asian Champions in the prestigious tournament.

The match against India’s Aizawl FC will take place at the Bangabandhu National Stadium at 4:30pm on Wednesday, April 25.

On Tuesday, April 24, a pre-match press conference was held with coaches, team managers and captains of both the teams at the BFF Conference Room at Dhaka’s Motijheel.

Chief coach of Abahani AKM Saiful Bari Titu and team captain in-charge Shahidul Islam Sohel talked about their preparations about the match in the press meet.

“The match will be highly competitive. We will try to leave the pitch with a win and full points,” said skipper Sohel.

Coach of Aizawl FC, Santos Keshwar and captain Alfred Kima Jarowan also promised their best in the match.

Students can experience the footballing bonanza for free at the Bangabandhu National Stadium if they provide valid identity cards at gate no.5 of the stadium.
