AFC President in Dhaka

Dhaka, October 29: The president of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Sheikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa has arrived in Dhaka on a two day visit starting from Sunday.

Sheikh Salman, who is also the vice-president of FIFA, the global football governing body, arrived at Dhaka after taking a flight from Kolkata where he watched the Under-17 World Cup football final between England and Spain.

This is the first visit of any top executive of world football since the former president of the FIFA, Sep Blatter visited Bangladesh in 2012 to inaugurate the Astro turf ground adjacent to BFF House.

Sheikh Salman, elected as the president of the AFC in 2013, will meet BFF’s executive committee members on Monday.

The BFF President Kazi Mohammed Salahuddin said the visit of the Salman is very important for BFF and the football of Bangladesh.
