AFC U19 Qualifiers: Bangladesh raring for Sri Lanka clash

Hisor, November 8: Bangladesh U19 national team is ready and raring to put on a show against Sri Lanka in their final group match of the ongoing AFC U19 Championship 2018 Qualifiers.Bangladesh will go into the match with a win, a draw and a loss to their name.

However, the players have been playing eye-catching football and were all but lucky to suffer an 1-0 defeat to Uzbekistan in the third match due to an unfortunate added time own-goal after the 90 minutes we’re over.

Keeping that in mind, Head Coach Mahbub Hossain Roksy said, “We are even more confident after the Uzbekistan match and everybody is in a good spirit. So, we will try to play our best football against Sri Lanka, win the match and achieve full point.”

Reflecting on the Uzbekistan match, Roksy said, “We were unlucky to lose the match. I can honestly say that Bangladesh football is in the right path.”

Team Manager Amirul Islam Babu said, “The way we have played so far has been tremendous. The AFC and Tajikistan Football Federation delegates came to meet me and they expressed great admiration for our football. It was really  unfortunate for us in the Uzbekistan match. But we are really thankful to everyone who have supported us so far.”

Bangladesh will be hoping to end the qualifiers with a victory against Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh’s match against the islanders will kick-off at Hisor Central Stadium, Hisor at 3:00pm Bangladesh time.
