AFC U19 qualifiers: BD pumped to fight against Uzbekistan

Hisor, November 6: Bangladesh U19 national team is ready to lock horns with group B toppers Uzbekistan in their third match of the ongoing AFC U19 Championship 2018 qualifiers.

The Uzbeks have proved to be the strongest side in the group so far with two big wins from their first two matches.

However, the Red and Greens are unfazed by Uzbekistan’s perfect record and are eager to fight it out against them to prove their mettle.

Head Coach Mahbub Hossain Roksy said, “Uzbekistan is a very strong and experienced team. They’ve played in the final round many times. But our team spirit is fantastic at the moment. We will put in our best effort & try to give 100% to go toe to toe with Uzbekistan. We’ll fight till the final whistle to try to keep points in this match in order to qualify for the next round.”

Captain Tutul Hossain Badsha said, “Our team played a fantastic match against Tajikistan and we also won against Maldives. Everybody is physically fit and mentally prepared. We feel more confident to play a good match against Uzbekistan. They are very strong and they have good goal-scorers in the team. In fact, they’ve already scored 16 goals in 2 matches without a reply. However, our team combination is also very good which will be very helpful for this critical match against Uzbekistan.”

Team Manager Amirul Islam Babu said, “After the first two matches, everybody is in a good spirit. The coach have discussed about the Uzbekistan match with our players and explained everyone’s duties. We all know that Uzbekistan is a very strong opponent in group B. So, this match is going to be our most vital match to stay alive in the race to play in the next round.”

The Bangladesh vs Uzbekistan match will kick-off at Hisor Central Stadium,Hisor at 3:00pm Bangladesh time.
