Dhaka: Runners-up of the recently concluded SAFF U-15 Women’s Championship 2018, team Bangladesh will be accorded a grand reception at the BFF House in Dhaka’s Motijheel.
Sponsors of the team, Walton Group, arranged the reception along with the Bangladesh Football Federation to commend the team’s outstanding performance at the SAFF tournament, which took place in Thimpu, Bhutan from August 9-18 with 6 teams including hosts Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
In their first match on August 9, Bangladesh grabbed the spotlight with a whooping 14-0 victory against Pakistan.
On August 13 at the Changlimithang Stadium, the red and greens scored 3 goals against Nepal with a clean sheet. On August 16, the hosts Bhutan met the same fate against Bangladesh as they lost 5-0.
The girls dominated the tournament with 22 goals in just three matches, but could not repeat the same against India in the finals as they lost 1-0.
The reception for the Bangladesh U-15 girls will take place on Monday, September 10, from 4pm.
Representatives of electronic and press media are cordially invited to attend the event.
