JFA U14 Women’s Championship 2019 begins June 17

Bangladesh Football Federation is all set to hold its annual talent hunt tournament JFA U14 Women’s Championship 2019. The competition, funded by Japan Football Association, will begin on June 17 (Monday) and continue till June 28. This year, a total of 40 districts will participate in the tournament that will be held in six venues across the country. BFF Women’s Football Committee implements the tournament every year as part of the federation’s strategy to spread the game among the girls. Therefore, the tournament is held in different venues where the districts nearby the particular venues take part and play each other to become the regional champion. Faridpur, Rajbari, Madaripur, Manikganj and Bagerhat, apart from the hosts, will play in Gopalganj from June 18 to 20. A total of seven districts will play in Chattogram Hill Tracts district Khagrachori. Sylhet, Noakhali, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Laxmipur and hosts Khagrachori will play there from 17th June to 20th. Jessore, apart from its own team, will host five other teams traveling from Satkhira, Khulna, Patuakhali, Magura, Borguna. The opening match will be held on June 17 while the final game on June 20. Six teams, Rajshahi, Bogra, Naogaon, Chapainababganj, Joypurhat and Sirajgonj will fight for the regional crown in Rajshahi. The tournament will begin there on June 25 and end on the 27th. Mymensingh, Sherpur, Tangail, Netrokona, Jamalpur, Narayanganj, Gazipur will play each other in Mymensingh venue from June 19 to 22. In Rangpur, a total of eight teams including the hosts will fight for becoming the ‘King in the North’. The other seven teams are Lalmonirhat, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Dinajpur, Gaibandha, Kurigram, Nilphamari. The tournament will go on there from June 25 to 28. The BFF believes that the tournament will successfully come to an end picking up a number of grass root football talents.
